Frontiers in Retreat
CAA was also an associate partner in Frontiers in Retreat: Multidisciplinary Approaches to Ecology in Contemporary Art (2013-2018), a five-year long collaborative enquiry into the intersections of art and ecology by eight European artist residency organisations and twenty-five artists. The project was initiated and concept developed by Taru Elfving, building on the previous work of CAA. It was co-ordinated by HIAP Helsinki International Artist Programme and funded by European Commission Culture Programme together with a number of public and private funders. As part of the project CAA co-organised a field trip to the island of Utö in the Turku Archipelago for all the partners and participating artists in 2015.
